SparkOn Driving Academy (“SparkOn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides driving lessons and related driver training services in Scarborough, Markham, North York, and nearby Ontario communities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you use our website, contact us, book lessons, communicate with us, or use our driving school services.

We aim to handle personal information in a careful and reasonable way, consistent with Canadian privacy principles, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), where it applies to our commercial activities.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Contact details: name, phone number, email address, preferred contact method, and messages you send to us.
  • Lesson and booking details: requested lesson type, preferred schedule, pickup or service area, driving goals, road test preparation needs, and related notes you choose to provide.
  • Student information: information needed to provide lessons, such as driving experience, licence stage, lesson history, progress notes, attendance, and instructor feedback.
  • Driver education or certification information: if you register for a Beginner Driver Education (BDE) package or another service that requires records for course completion, certification, insurance, or Ministry of Transportation (MTO)-related purposes, we may collect information such as date of birth, address, licence class/status, driver’s licence information, course progress, and completion records, only where reasonably necessary.
  • Payment and transaction information: payment status, package purchased, invoices, receipts, and related accounting records. If a third-party payment provider is used, that provider may process payment details under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Website and technical information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring pages, cookies, and similar technical data used for website security, performance, and basic operation.

We do not ask for sensitive identification numbers, copies of identification, or full driver’s licence details through the general website contact form. If we need to examine or record licence-related information for a legitimate driving school purpose, we will limit collection to what is reasonably necessary for that purpose.

General inquiries that do not become bookings may be kept for a shorter period. Student, payment, lesson, attendance, progress, BDE, completion, and insurance-related records may be kept longer where required or reasonably necessary for business, legal, insurance, or MTO-related purposes.

9. Safeguards

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, theft, or modification. These safeguards may include limiting access to people who need the information, using password-protected systems, maintaining secure hosting and website tools, and taking care with records shared between students, instructors, and service providers.

No website, email, messaging platform, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please contact us if you believe your information has been sent to us in error or may have been affected by a security issue.
