From Scarborough or Markham: Highway 401 East to Highway 115 North, follow 115 into Peterborough, exit toward The Parkway/Lansdowne Street — plan about 1 hour 30 minutes from Scarborough and build in buffer time. Arrive at least 30 minutes early with both parts of your licence and your booking confirmation. Remember DriveTest’s 48-hour cancellation rule — cancel late and you lose your test fee.
Tips for the Peterborough Test Centre
1. Smaller-city traffic, same standards
Examiners apply identical MTO criteria. The most common mistakes here are relaxed shoulder checks and rolling stops — don’t let calm streets make you casual.
2. Know the neighbourhood streets
Routes use the residential areas around Erskine Avenue and Lansdowne Street — practice 50 km/h zones that drop near schools and parks.
3. Mind the multi-lane sections
Lansdowne Street and The Parkway have lane-change sections where examiners watch your mirror-signal-shoulder sequence closely.
4. G test takers
Highway 115 sections may be used for highway evaluation — practice confident merging at full speed.
5. Use the warm-up to recalibrate
If you’ve practised mostly in the GTA, 30 minutes of local driving resets your feel for Peterborough’s rhythm.
